Plateau Mont-Royal Move-In/Move-Out Cleaning: Built for the Neighborhood
The Plateau is Montreal’s densest residential neighborhood. Walk-up apartments, classic Montreal triplexes with wrought-iron spiral staircases, narrow hallways, and units stacked tight. Most buildings are 2–3 stories with no elevator, and the housing stock skews old (pre-1960s construction is the norm). High ceilings, original hardwood, plaster walls, and compact layouts that make cleaning during a move more physical and more detailed than most people expect.
At The Clean Panther Nettoyages, we’ve cleaned Plateau apartments through every kind of move. Walk-ups with tight stairwells, July 1st turnarounds with hours between tenants, and units left in rough shape by previous occupants. We know what these spaces need.
Why Plateau properties need specialized move-in/move-out cleaning.
The Plateau has one of the highest renter populations in Montreal. Over 75% of households rent (Statistics Canada, 2021 Census), and tenant turnover is constant. That means landlords cycling units, new tenants expecting a clean space, and tight windows between one lease ending and the next beginning. Generic cleaning doesn’t work here. The buildings are too old, the layouts too specific.
Here’s what we bring to every Plateau move-in/move-out job:
Walk-up apartment cleaning, top to bottom. No elevators, narrow stairwells, tight corners. We bring all equipment up and clean each room systematically. Baseboards, light fixtures, window frames, inside cabinets, behind appliances. The spiral staircases that define Plateau architecture get cleaned too (railings, treads, and the dust traps underneath).
Original hardwood floors. Plateau apartments almost always have hardwood, and most of it is old. Moving furniture across these floors leaves scuffs, dust collects in gaps between planks, and years of foot traffic build up residue. We use floor-safe products and microfiber methods that clean without stripping or dulling the finish. If the floors took damage during the move, we’ll flag what might need refinishing.
Compact kitchens and bathrooms. Plateau kitchens are often galley-style or tucked into corners. Grease builds up fast in tight spaces. Bathrooms are similarly compact, with older tile, grout that discolors, and fixtures that need descaling. We clean all surfaces inside and out (appliances, cabinets, countertops, tile, grout, behind toilets).
High ceilings and hard-to-reach areas. Many Plateau units have 9–10 foot ceilings. That means crown mouldings, tall window frames, and light fixtures that collect dust out of normal reach. We bring the right equipment to clean these areas properly, not just the parts you can see at eye level.
July 1st turnarounds and flexible scheduling. The Plateau is ground zero for Montreal’s July 1st moving day. We handle same-day turnarounds, last-minute bookings, and tight timelines when one tenant leaves in the morning and the next arrives in the afternoon. If your schedule changes, we adjust.
Satisfaction guarantee. Every move-in/move-out job is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something doesn’t meet your standard, we come back and fix it.
