NDG Move-In/Move-Out Cleaning: What Your Property Actually Needs
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is one of Montreal’s most established residential neighborhoods. Tree-lined streets, a mix of duplexes, triplexes, semi-detached homes, and low-rise apartment buildings. Many properties date back to the 1920s–40s, with original hardwood floors, plaster walls, and layouts that reflect a different era of construction. NDG also has a significant student and young professional population (proximity to Concordia’s Loyola campus and the MUHC), which means higher turnover and more frequent moves than most neighborhoods.
At The Clean Panther Nettoyages, we’ve cleaned hundreds of NDG properties during moves. We know the housing stock, the common issues, and what it takes to get these spaces ready for the next tenant or owner.
Why NDG properties need move-in/move-out cleaning that’s actually thorough.
NDG’s housing is predominantly multi-unit. Over 65% of residents are renters (Statistics Canada, 2021 Census), and July 1st moving day hits this neighborhood hard. That means tight turnarounds, landlords needing units cleaned between tenants, and new residents wanting a fresh start in a space that’s actually clean (not just swept).
Here’s what we bring to every NDG move-in/move-out job:
Duplex and triplex cleaning, all levels. Most NDG homes are 2–3 stories with separate units. We clean each level top to bottom: every room, hallway, staircase, and shared entryway. Baseboards, light fixtures, window frames, inside cabinets, behind appliances. Whether you’re cleaning one unit or the whole building, we treat every space the same way.
Older hardwood and original flooring. NDG’s pre-war homes often have original hardwood that’s been through decades of tenants. We use floor-safe products and microfiber methods to remove scuff marks, dust, and residue without stripping or dulling the finish. If the floors took damage during the move, we’ll clean around it and flag what might need refinishing.
Small kitchens and older appliances. NDG kitchens tend to be compact, especially in older duplexes and apartments. Grease buildup around stoves, lime scale on faucets, and grime inside older fridges are common. We clean all appliance surfaces inside and out, countertops, backsplashes, and cabinetry interiors.
Bathroom deep cleaning for high-turnover units. Older bathrooms with ceramic tile, grout lines, and vintage fixtures need more attention than a quick wipe-down. We scrub tile, treat grout, descale fixtures, and clean behind and around toilets. The goal is move-in ready, not “good enough.”
July 1st and peak moving season. NDG is one of the busiest neighborhoods in Montreal during moving season. We handle last-minute bookings, same-day turnarounds between tenants, and flexible scheduling when closings shift. If your timeline changes, we adapt.
Satisfaction guarantee. Every move-in/move-out job is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something doesn’t meet your standard, we come back and fix it. That’s the commitment.
